CVS and Walgreens are offering customers new prescription drugs after a joint investigation by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration found that the pharmacy chain used a website promoted to sell “erectile dysfunction drugs.” The website included links to prescription drug listings, including erectile dysfunction drugs like Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, and Stendra, as well as a list of over-the-counter drugs for women that patients were asked to fill out online.

“This type of online marketing is becoming increasingly common,” said Karen Bradley, a spokesman for Walgreens, which owns CVS.
Bradley said the FDA has found that online pharmacy promotion “is a significant risk to consumers who buy prescription drugs, including prescription drugs for ED.” That could lead to the loss of prescription drug revenues, she said.
CVS said it has suspended its pharmacy business because of the findings and that, in addition to the investigation, it will not participate in the online pharmacy business. CVS and Walgreens will remain in the chain’s pharmacy business.

BACK TO TABLETSDEFERENCES BOOST CIALIS (Tadalafil) is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. Cialis, the active ingredient in Cialis, works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, allowing for increased blood flow during sexual stimulation.Cialis, the active ingredient in Cialis, works by inhibiting phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), an enzyme that breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGMP is a pro-inflammatory mediator that can cause erectile dysfunction. Cialis can also affect the smooth muscle cells in the penis, causing smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow. This makes Cialis a useful treatment option for men with erectile dysfunction.
The mechanism of action for Cialis is similar to that of nitrates. By inhibiting PDE5, Cialis can increase the levels of cGMP in the penis, leading to increased blood flow and erections. As a result, men who have ED can achieve firm erections without the need for sex. However, Cialis can also cause a temporary decrease in blood pressure, which may result in fainting or dizziness.
As with all prescription medications, inform your doctor if you>:
Take Cialis by mouth; this should ensure that you are taking this product as directed. If you are taking other PDE5 inhibitors, your healthcare provider may prescribe a second medication. Take Cialis at least 30 minutes before sexual activity, and at least 4 hours (or 4 hours) before any drugs that you may take on a regular basis (e.g., medications for high blood pressure, HIV).
1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:
Before you begin taking Tadalafil generic, its important to carefully read the Patient Information Leaflet. Make sure to review it each time you get a refill.
Take Tadalafil dosage orally, either with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. Tadalafil dosage should not exceed more than once a day. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not split it or crush unless advised.
Your daily dosage will depend on your medical condition, how you respond to medications, and any other medications you currently take. Before you take ED treatment pills, ensure that you inform your healthcare service provider of any prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, and any other supplements you take.
If you are also using finasteride alongside Tadalafil to treat any symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), discuss the duration of treatment and dosage you will need with your healthcare provider.
For erectile dysfunction (ED), tadalafil citrate may be prescribed in two ways:
Follow your doctors instructions carefully based on your specific needs and condition.
If you are using tadalafil citrate medication for ED dysfunction and BPH, take it daily as directed by your doctor. To ensure you do not forget, take it at the same time each day.
Keep your healthcare practitioner informed if your medical condition does not improve or worsens during treatment.
